Do you know where Christmas wreaths come from?

Do you know where Christmas wreaths come from?

Why do we find them so very alluring?

These are questions not many kids ask, but a few adults do want to know.

It seems the ever-endearing holiday wreath has roots in many cultures.

The evergreen branches — and even the shape itself — were symbols of strength and life. Some cultures have used wreaths featuring various arrangements and items to identify the family and house, much like our street address.

Volcano Art Center invites you to join Jelena Clay for the ever-popular “Holiday Wreath Workshop” from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.

Cost for the workshop is $55.

Class size is limited, so register in advance online at www.volcanoartcer.org or call 967-8222.
